Sunday, February 26th, 2012 - Where You Stand Determines What You See"  -  Sr. Pastor William E. Tyler

Vision

IT IS THE VISION OF PASTOR TYLER THAT ANTIOCH WILL

FOREVER BE THAT CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST THAT IS

ON THE GO, REACHING AND TEACHING,

CARING AND SHARING FOR THE LORD.

This can be accomplished through the development of a strong youth, marriage, single, prison, children, adult and senior adult ministries.  It is my belief as the pastor of his flock that God can reach the entire community through these avenues.  I desire to see us create a center for the community, a teen center with a gymnasium as well as an after school learning center.  Within this learning center, we can help people to become computer literate as well as offering all types of vocational training opportunities.  It is also a part of my vision that there be a California licensed Christian day and evening care facility for the working parental members of our congregation.  Furthermore, as God grants resources and opportunity, I foresee a drug and alcohol rehabilitation ministry where those who have fallen prey to these dreaded nemesis' of human kind, could find forgiveness and a road to wholeness.  Within this vision there is a shelter for single males, and one for single females, as well as a family oriented shelter where temporary housing can be provided for those who have fallen on hard times.  There needs to be a co-operate for our senior adult members that have retired from the workforce as well as those that are in the need of convalescent services.  We also need a Christian counseling center.  At some point in time, the church should be about the business of establishing it's own Christian financial services, i.e.; banking and/or credit union services and a Christian bookstore.  Whatever else God wants to give us as we progress toward these visionary goals we are open to.

Now the question becomes what's our first step for getting there?

I'm glad you asked!  We need to be about the business of seeing how we can most expeditiously erase our present debt situation, so that we might better position ourselves for the acquisition of some of the surrounding properties in order to expand.  Some type of non-profit foundation needs to be established in order to take advantage of the millions of federal dollars that are available for non-profits through grant writing.  However, this foundation must be both separate and apart from the church, as no federal money can be filtered in to your foundation through your church.
