Sunday, February 26th, 2012 - Where You Stand Determines What You See"  -  Sr. Pastor William E. Tyler

Sanctuary Reflection

The new sanctuary of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church was built and furnished entirely by inspiration of the Holy Spirit.  Every detail and color selection for furnishings was totally inspired by God Himself for His glory and our edification.  God Himself has truly built for His exclusive worship, a sanctuary of warmth and glory.

His selection of Purple Pews which is descriptive of Royalty, depicts us sitting in royal garments (Judges 8:26); as wealthy sons and daughters of His (Luke 16:19; with luxury (Revelation 17:4).

The choice of green carpet is symbolic of our walking in spiritual life (Psalm 52:8; 92:12-15). Green is also synonymous with us walking on spiritual privileges (Jeremiah 11:16).

The blue of the office area describes heavenly character (Exodus 28:31).

The stain glass depicts the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove with an olive branch in his mouth offering peace to anyone who will accept His gift of the cross of Jesus Christ with His precious splattered blood all around it.  That and that alone is what merits us receiving the crown of eternal life.

The selection of gray tone light fixtures symbolizes the smoke of incense that burns continuously in the sanctuary of God invoking His continuous presence among His people as they worship Him in truth and Spirit.

The side windowpanes are representative of the children of Antioch who are striving not to walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor who stands in the way of sinners, nor who sits in the seat of the scornful, but our delight is in the law of the Lord therefore we are like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth our fruit at the appropriate time, and our works for the Lord shall not wither; and we believe that whatsoever we do shall prosper (Ps. 1:2-3).
